Father’s Day 2011: Celebrating Dads!

8 June 2011 2 Comments

 Father’s Day is on Sunday, June 19th and we’re going to celebrate in style!

From now until midnight June 18th you have the opportunity to leave a special tribute to the dad you’d like to celebrate!

Simply post a ‘dad & baby’ photo on our Facebook Fan page or email it to anne@newbornfree.com .

Leave a few words about what the photo means to you, one thing you love about the father pictured, or a quote about dads. (Mums, be sure to tag dad if he’s on Facebook!)

We’d really love to hear from dads too so come and post a favourite pic of you and your little one and share what makes you happy about being a father, or tell us about the special dad in your life .

The winner will be announced on Monday June 20th. Good luck!

We are delighted to be teaming up with Summer Infant to offer our Father’s Day Contest winner an awesome BabyTouch Video Monitor worth £179.99!!  Not only that but we’ll also be choosing two runners up to win a BornFree GiftSet.

Taking inspiration from smart phone technology, Summer Infant’s BabyTouch uses touchscreen technology and its features include: temperature read out, 2-way talk back, digital zoom, pan and tilt remotely from the parent unit, and an impressive 9cm screen. The BabyTouch also offers a wireless camera allowing complete portability and the parent unit comes with rechargeable batteries included which can be charged from the magnetic docking station.

BornFree was created by 3 dads out of their concern about the harmful chemicals found in baby bottles and drinking cups. They developed a range of of bottles, cups, soothers and more which are 100% free of the toxins Bisphenol-A (BPA), Phthalates and PVC.

Our new partner, Summer Infant, also founded by dads, works hard at creating thoughtful baby products to help make every big and little moment with baby, the best time of your life.  At Summer Infant, they strive to make each and every moment with your baby, a safe, reliable, happy, healthy and nurturing one. Please feel free to visit them at www.summerinfant.co.uk

 UPDATE 20/06/11:

We are so grateful to everyone who emailed their photos or posted them on our Facebbok wall. We’ve really enjoyed celebrating Father’s Day 2011 with our wonderful fans and we are now very happy to announce our Father’s Day Contest winners:

The Summer Infant BabyTouch Monitor first prize goes to Rachel Pearson-Congratulations!

This was the gorgeous picture and poem that Rachel shared

Walk a little slower, Daddy,
Said a little child so small.
I’m following in your footsteps
And I don’t want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they are hard to see;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I’m all grown up,
You’re what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who’ll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you.

Our 2 runners up are Andrew Anderson, who emailed his photo and message and Debbie O’Connor, who shared on our facebook wall.  Andrew and Debbie will both recieve a BornFree Giftset. Congratulations to you both!
We will be contacting all our winners as soon as possible.

    I love that poem. When Alex was born I made hand and foot prints and cut them out. I put them in a frame and printed off that poem to sit in the middle for his 1st fathers day. 4 years on and its still on the wall today x
