Mum and Dad Time
Becoming a parent is one of the most fulfilling times in a person’s life. Many will say THE most fulfilling. However, a common mistake that parents make is to put all their energy and focus into raising their kids and little or no time and energy into building and maintaining a healthy relationship with their partner.
Anyone who’s had a baby will understand how easily this can happen and how hard it is from then on to even find time for a shower let alone time for your relationship.
Our contest this week is all about bringing back the romance! We’d love all you BornFree Mums & Dads to share your favourite romantic moment by answering this question:
When was the last time you and your husband or partner got away from it all just the two of you?
It can be from a time before you had kids, or since you’ve become parents. Maybe it was a romantic break away, your honeymoon, or a favourite date?
Leave your answer in a comment either here at the end of this blog post or on our Facebook fanpage wall. If you’d like to share a photo which captures your special time we love to see that too, either in an email to anne@newbornfree.com or on our fanpage wall to accompany your comment.
You have until midnight Tuesday 28th June to enter and we’ll announce the winner on Weds 29th June. The winner will receive their choice of 2 BornFree bottles or Cups.
Good luck! We can’t wait to hear your romantic stories x
Update 29/06/11 We’re very pleased to announce that our winner is Lisa Prince, congratulations! Thanks to everyone else who took part in the competition.

We always put all of our time into bringing up the kids and catering for their needs, and all of a sudden it dawned on us, it had been almost 12 years since Hubby and I had been away on our own! We asked my Mum & Dad to look after the kids and headed off for St. David’s near Tenby. We had such a lovely weekend, staying in a little b & b and strolling through the Town looking in shops and having nice pub lunches, we even managed a moonlit walk along the harbour, something we hadnt done for years and years! We spent a fortune on pressies for the kids because we did feel a little guilty leaving them behind and had missed them so much, but it did us the power of good, we came back refreshed and so much closer for spending some quality time together, am just hoping it wont be another 12 years before we get to do it all again!

well i dont know if you think this counts but i fell in love with him over again at this point, it was when i gave birth to our son on the 2nd march 2011 and we both sat in the birthing pool he was making me comfortable as the contractions got worse and trying to make me laugh and talk about all the good things we had shared, our son was born with us both in the pool and we all snapped a pic within seconds of all us together it was the most memorable moment of my life and made me realise i loved him even more x
Mandy, it sounds like you had a wonderful time together, how about every 12 months instead of every 12 years from now on! x
Lisa, thanks for sharing your beautiful story, it sent shivers down my spine x
He told me he was working away for a week. When I finished work, he was sat waiting for me in reception with an overnight bag, and he drove us to the lake district. We stayed overnight in a beautiful hotel, and the next day he took me out for an action packed time at go ape, and then a boat ride on lake windemere. Best holiday ever.
