Halloween Party Ideas!
Are you gearing up for a Halloween party with your little ones? Here’s Multiple Mummy Kerry with some fab ideas for spooktacular fun!
Halloween is fast approaching and it is a time of year I love. My Grandma claims she is a witch and I have a feeling that this gene may have been inherited. Not in a warty, cackling, black hat kind of way, but in a very perceptive and slightly psychic kind of way. Although, I have always wished I’d gone to Hogwarts and I am a science teacher- which is effectively Potions, is it not?
Anyway, we try to do a little Halloween get together every year with kiddies and I even did it when Noah was a baby. Each year I have to force the poor munchkins into some dressing up outfit!
However, finding games that are not ‘too spooky’ for little ones has been harder than expected so I thought I would give you a list of some favourites which will get the party going.
1. Pin the wart on the witch!
This is a very simple variation of the tail on the donkey but little ones love it. To prevent any ‘pin’ incidents’ I would advise using blue tack! Lots of ‘cheap shops’ do loads of decorations now so finding a big witch should not be too difficult and then you just need to make the wart!
2. Pick the brains
This is really easy! Get a punch bowl and make up some jelly in it! Before it sets add goodies like sweets and let it set in the fridge. Cover it with material and create a slit big enough for a little hand. They must not be able to see the contents! Tell them they can hunt for the goodies but they must pick through the brains to find them.
3. Mummy wrap!
For this you need two volunteers (adults) and two teams and a few rolls of toilet paper. Play some Halloween music (I have suggested some at the bottom of this post) and the team that gets their mummy most mummified with the toilet paper in the agreed time wins!
4. Bobbin’ for Apples!
An old-time favourite; but it never goes wrong. Apples in a bowl of water and with hands behind their back they have to catch an apple with their mouths!
5. Eyeball hunt!
Another slightly messy one, but really great fun. In a large washing up bowl put in some cold cooked spaghetti! Add in some marbles and give a stir! You then let the children take turns to find the marbles (eyeballs) with their feet! It is very entertaining.
If you are after some Halloween music for a party, some classic tracks to download would be:
• Monster Mash
• Adams Family theme tune
• Ghostbusters theme tune
• Thriller
• Time Warp
You can also ask on your invite for each person to bring their own carved pumpkin and host a competition! Kids also love any colouring activities so print off some pictures from the Internet and use them as a colouring competition!
If you’re having a Halloween party this October I am sure the BornFree Mum & Dad community would love to see photos of your little ones dressed up! I know I would!
Have Fun!
Boo! (Did I scare you?)
